A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
Contrary to popular belief, line country dancing is NOT one of the many American folk dances rooted in the history of the United States and Canada. Actually, this dance style appeared in the late 70s and spread all over the continent from the early 80s to the 21st Century. The question is: was there a starting point which ignited this genre of dance? The answer is:
YES❣️
At the beginning, songs of famous country singers before the 60s were chreographed to be danced in line.
Furthermore, in the second part of the 20th Century, many hits of prominent singers were also danced in line, adding other tempos to the genre: jazz, blues, cha-cha, merengue, samba, tango, and so, and so forth.
This page lists the best-known of these artists, with the title(s) of the dance(s) choreographers wrote on one of their most famous songs —found in the "labels" list on the right—displayed beneath their names.
