CHICAGO IN 2024
Since the first image on this site is a photo of Chicago I took in the late 1970s, I think it's fitting that photos of Chicago from all eras illustrate the last page of this blog... so: stay tuned! Meanwhile, in 1996, Chicago and Paris were twinned in September 1996 by President Jacques Chirac and Mr. Richard M. Daley, Mayor of Chicago:

As I write this post (January 25, 2026), we will be entering the 30th year of the twinning.
In fact, it's the same city photographed from the lake, almost 50 years after the one at the top of the site. You can see the Sears Tower, renamed Willis. I took my photo in the summer. This one's from September/October... some winters feel like we're in an ice age...
Since we're back to Chicago, IL... it's a good opportunity to share an old video I made in the '80s! You'll see a place that will remind you of... Paris La Défense, in the last third of the video. There you go:
