Week 2026-38: Sept. 14ᵗʰ 1814 Birth of the National Anthem

 FROM THE DEFENSE OF FORT McHENRY SONG

TO THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER

It was on September 14ᵗʰ 1814 that Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the poem "Defence of Fort McHenry". In 1931, part of the poem became the lyrics of "The Star-Spangled Banner", the US National Banner.
